Check-up of eggs.
March-April is the best period for growing chickens, ducklings, goslings and baby birds of other breeds. If you use an incubator, it is very important to very well adjust the regime of heating and moistening eggs and of the frequency of turning them. Only on this condition you can rely on the good output of young birds.
The information available here will help you to grow birds in incubators of any kind of design, including homemade ones, in proper time and with proper quality.
Before storing the eggs into the incubator they are on both ends marked with some signs, for example «X» and «Î». A simple method but very much helps to control the positioning of the eggs: first they all have one sign on the top, and after turning them they have another one. And as you have to turn them often, especially in the initial period, it is easy to get confused without markings.
The eggs are tested twice: on the 7th or 8th day (the embryo can be seen as a dark spot in the yolk) and on the 11-13th day (the entire egg, except the air chamber, is dark, and transparent eggs are to be removed).
